An Old Man With a Funky Hand

The Blob Review

The Blob

I’ve already stated how much I love the 1988 remake of The Blob in a previous review, which can be found here. With that in mind, it is and will always be one of my favorite movies of all time. I have been patiently waiting for a Blu-ray release of it that would do it justice and folks, Twilight Time has given us one!

The colors are bright and bold and the transfer is leaps and bounds above the DVD that was released years ago. It’s nice to see a company go above and beyond and not just give the fans a mediocre transfer and a bare bones disc. We get a commentary that is fun and filled with wonderful little insights of what it took to bring this monster to life.

Twilight Time is snatching up more and more titles of forgotten little gems that deserve respect and much like Shout! Factory, they are delivering the goods. The only problem is the copies are extremely limited and will soon become a collectors’ item with a hefty price tag attached. I speak from experience with their release of Tom Savini’s Night of the Living Dead, so do yourself a favor and snatch this up right now! They are limited to one per customer to prevent scalping as much as possible. Don’t be the only one left out in the cold; Get it now from Twilight Time’s official site.
