What if I Can End This?

The Sky Has Fallen Review

The Sky Has Fallen

I like to think of myself as a connoisseur of horror. I’ve seen it all and I’m always on the look out for indie directors who make me feel the same thing I did when I watched The Evil Dead for the first time. It’s been a few months since Doug Roos film The Sky Has Fallen came into my possession. For some reason, I put this film on the back burner and nearly forgot about it. After an email from Frank and a quick re-visit of the trailer, this film had to happen.

The Sky Has Fallen has racked up many awards at film festivals and with good reason. This has got to be one of the gnarliest films I have seen in recent history. The gore is astounding as is the pacing and the relentless violence. Doug Roos has an incredible eye for film making. This film is on par with Raimi’s The Evil Dead and Jackson’s Bad Taste, meaning this is an incredible feat for one man to accomplish.

This one is for the true gore hounds and the fans of the splat-stick genre in general. Despite the films flaws in sound, lighting, and editing, the heart is obviously in the right place… and it’s pumping blood all over the floor. I can recommend this film to everyone out there who searches for the next nasty film like I do. Give this one a watch and help spread the word — Doug Roos is nasty and he is coming to spill some blood.

I give this one 2.5 swords out of 5.
