It Keeps My Skin On

Red Christmas Review

Red Christmas | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

When I was younger, it seemed as though I had all the time in the world. A day would take forever to pass and my summer vacations from school felt like an eternity. Now? Now, it feels as though a complete week passes in the blink of an eye. It is already October 1st, even though it feels like I was celebrating New Years Day just yesterday. We have yet to reach Halloween, so I don’t want to rush time [...]

Silent Night Mini-Review

Silent Night | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

What is not to love about Christmas movies? Especially Christmas movies that fall into the “slasher” category. There are countless slasher-themed holiday movies, with the late 70’s and early 80’s bringing some of the best. The best known holiday horror movie would more than likely be Silent Night, Deadly Night, coming at a time when mothers were against anything violent in a Christmas movie. My personal favorite pick would be the Tales From The Crypt episode, “And All Through [...]

Can’t You See That They’re Sleeping?

Dismembering Christmas Review

Dismembering Christmas | Repulsive Reviews | Horror

Out of all of the ‘throwback’ slashers that I’ve watched over the past few years, one of the more enjoyable ones was the indie gem, Don’t Go to the Reunion. Needless to say, when the same studio that brought that film to life, Slasher Studios, released news of an upcoming holiday project, I was elated. I could not wait for the next film, as I was sure it’d be another great entry in the slasher sub-genre. After months and [...]

A Christmas Horror Story Review

A Christmas Horror Story | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

I’ve been doing this little horror film review gig for about four years now and every year around this time, I get in the mood to watch some good ol’ Christmas-themed horror flicks, naturally. It seems, however, that every year, Christmas comes and goes and sadly, I really never actually review any of the films that I have planned. Well, hopefully I can change that this year, starting with this bad boy, A Christmas Horror Story with segments directed by [...]

You Discovered Santa’s Sleigh!

Icetastrophe Review

Icetastrophe

I usually steer clear of the natural disaster horror films that make their way to the Syfy channel, but after the blast I had with last year’s Sharknado 2, I’ve changed my tune a bit. These made-for-TV films are actually upping their game a little bit and Jonathan Winfrey’s Icetastrophe proves itself as another worthy entry into the sub-genre.

It’s Christmas time and the small town of Lennox has gathered to celebrate the holiday and the changes coming in [...]

I Have Something For You

Christmas Evil Review

Christmas Evil

One of my recent reviews was of the anthology film, Tales From the Crypt, which featured a segment dealing with a psychotic killer on the loose in a Santa Clause outfit. What better way to continue that trend as we get closer to Christmas day than to review another killer Santa film. This time around, it is Lewis Jackson’s 1980 flick, Christmas Evil.

Harry has always loved Christmas. He even works at a toy factory in order to [...]

Silent Night, Deadly Night: 30th Anniversary Edition Review

Silent Night, Deadly Night

By now, you all know about the love I have for slasher films. To me, one of the funnest parts of the sub-genre is that there’s a title for every and any holiday you can think of. There are slashers dealing with Halloween, Valentine’s Day, New Years Eve, Mother’s Day, and anything else you can think of. Perhaps the most popular holiday to be used is Christmas. Of all of the Christmas-themed horror flicks out there, Charles E. Sellier’s Silent [...]

You Smell Worse Than Me

A Cadaver Christmas Review

A Cadaver Christmas

Joe Zerull’s A Cadaver Christmas is a ridiculously fun grindhouse style horror/comedy film. Everything that horror fans love is present and executed very well for a lower-budget splatter flick.

Writers Daniel Rairdin-Hale and Hanlon Smith-Dorsey’s script is fresh, fun, and it seems much of the humor was improvised on the spot. Both pull double duty as writers and actors in Christmas and bring characters jumping to life with each scene. Fans of Planet Terror will undoubtedly be fans of this [...]
