You’ve Gotta be Freaking Kiddin’ Me!

From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money Guest Review

Remember the first time you saw From Dusk Till Dawn? The first time you saw the “Titty Twister” dive bar? The unforgettable cameos from Salma Hayek and Cheech Marin? The direction from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez? Well, forget all that when turning on the 1999, sequel From Dusk Till Dawn 2: Texas Blood Money. Directed by Scott Spiegel and starring Robert Patrick, this movie falls incredibly short of the movie it’s following. It has cameos from Bruce Campbell and Tiffany Amber Thiessen, and somehow Danny Trejo returns as “Razor Eddie,” but even these things don’t help this direct-to-DVD b-movie sequel.

The only connection this story has to the original is the appearance of the “Titty Twister” for 10 minutes, along with Razor Eddie, and one mention of The Gecko Brothers, about midway through the movie. Aside from that, it’s literally about a pack of vampires trying to rob a bank… seriously.

The acting is bad from everyone, and the effects are just as terrible. The real save is the sexy Latino chick at the hotel, complete with full nudity, but that’s such a short scene, it really dosen’t help the movie at all.

All in all, stay away from this film. With the El Rey Original Network series premiere of From Dusk Till Dawn right around the corner, I thought I would watch the trilogy again to catch up, but this film was so bad I’m not even sure I will watch the prequel, The Hangman’s Daughter.

I give this 1.5 flaming bats out of 5.

I watched this a long time ago and I thought it was enjoyable. But agreed, the first From Dusk Til Dawn is much and much better.
