I only began watching Charles Band’s back-catalog within the last year; The first one I saw was “Gingerdead Man” and I hated it. I then decided to go back and start from the beginning. After watching the first five “Puppet Master” movies, I realized that as the years have gone by, Charles Band has either forgotten how to make good movies or just doesn’t want to make good ones anymore.
I recently signed up for the Full Moon streaming service offered by Band and co. and figured I’d finally give “Unlucky Charms” a chance. It turned out just as awful as I had expected.
The acting in this movie is as bad as it gets and the effects were worse than what Full Moon was pulling off in the 80’s. The story itself actually had a lot of potential, but the execution was done poorly. Even with a short runtime of about an hour and 15 minutes, it was still painstakingly slow.
If you’re a fan of Charles Band’s later releases like “Evil Bong” or “Ooga Booga,” then perhaps this one is for you. If not, then you can easily pass it by and not think twice about it. Overall, “Unlucky Charms” gets 1 golden egg out of 5.
I don’t know about this. I think I’ll pass. Althought the trailer looks like it’s funny, I think it’s one of those movies that only has a promising trailer, but then when you watch the movie itself it’s total garbage…
Pretty much all you need to see of this film is in the trailer.
Everything else is extra fluff that you don’t need to sit through.
