Collectibles for Horror Lovers: Funko

Spine-Chilling Spotlight

Funko | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movie Collectibles Spine-Chilling Spotlight

Walk into any toy store, comic shop, entertainment spot, hell, even most pharmacies and you’ll see Funko adorning the shelves. The company has been gaining popularity like wildfire over the past few years with collectibles of all shapes and sizes of almost every single character, athlete, actor, and entertainer you can think of. The best part of all of this…? They have tons of horror merchandise!

I have been collecting Funko products for almost four years now; The first ones I purchased were a Sharknado vinyl figure and a Governor from The Walking Dead vinyl figure, both from their Pop! line. Now, years later, with more in my personal collection than I care to admit, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, Chucky, Michael Myers, Ashley Williams, Hannibal Lector, and so many more line my shelves in multiple forms.

Constantly evolving, the company originally founded 20 years ago, brings us some of the most addicting collectibles around. They sell exclusive versions of their character models in a myriad of stores, online and brick and mortar, including Amazon, FYE, Target, Walmart, and Walgreens. Funko has their own conventions each year, which are attended by thousands of diehard fans, and are heavily featured at tons of other cons around the country.

Their horror collectibles don’t only come in Pop! vinyl figures either. These guys are always introducing new lines for collectors — from their plushies and keychains to their cute and [even] more kid-friendly Dorbz. Most recently, they even entered into the cereal business! That’s right, now you can get your very own boxes of cereal featuring the likes of Freddy, Jason, and Pennywise on the cover. Of course, all boxes come with their own collectible mini vinyl figures, as well!

If you are an avid collector of all things horror, you should certainly be checking out Funko. They are always improving. For example, their most recent Jason Voorhees mold looks so much more detailed than the original one, released years ago. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll even be able to track down the infamous unmasked Jason, which I’ve seen going for hundreds of dollars all over the internet.

Whether you’re a flipper trying to make a dollar or just want to build your own collection, there are tons of products to pick from and it’s one of the most fun hobbies there is!

Are you already a collector? Leave me a comment below and let me know which characters are your favorite, how many you have in your personal stash, and anything else you want to share!

201 horror pops. I’ve got a few non-horror as well, but not many. I only know how many because I keep track of all my collection on Gemr. I would have never guessed I’d have that many when I started. I can’t wait to see what they will do for horror next.

I don’t think I’m very far off of your 201! I keep track of my collection on poppriceguide, but haven’t looked at the totals in a while. I also have way more than just horror, too!

I just learned about their new 5 Star line, so I might be picking up those horror ones soon, too.
