Not All Miracles are Holy

Godforsaken Review

Godforsaken follows an independent filmmaker who is documenting his trip back to his home town to attend a high school friend’s funeral. But when Lisa seemingly comes back from the dead and starts performing miracles, the filmmaker and his friends try to uncover the mystery surrounding this resurrection. Some people thinks she’s God, and some think she is the devil. You’ll have to watch the movie and find out.

I am a bit of a found footage freak. I’ve lost track of how many of these movies I have watched, but lets just say it’s quite a bit. If you are not a fan of the sub-genre, then this movie will not change your mind — there’s a lot of running with the camera, screaming, and some minor plot holes. But if you love found footage movies, I think you will enjoy Godforsaken; It’s got some good gore, decent acting by the main characters, and the last 20 minutes of this movie is an insane ride.

Godforsaken was written and directed by Ali Akbar Akbar Kamal and it stars Chris Tailor, Melie B. Rondeau, Katie Fleming, and Domenic Derose. Everyone did a great job.

If you are in the mood for a good found footage horror flick then give Godforsaken a go. It is currently available to rent on Apple TV and Amazon Prime. It’s also free on YouTube, but the ad breaks REALLY ruin the tension.
