I’ve been a wolf-man and werewolf fan for as long as I can remember, so you can imagine my surprise when I found another little gem that went under my radar for so long. Now, I can cross a werewolf movie and a Stephen King movie off of my to-watch list with Daniel Attias’ “Silver Bullet.”
It’s always great to see a new take on an old idea; Daniel Attias and Stephen King were able to take the story of the wolf-man and make it their own with an awesome cast and some cool 80’s music! Corey Haim and Gary Busey were both awesome in this flick and even got some help from the wonderful performance by Megan Follows.
The creature design, although resembling more of a bear at points, was very well done. I loved the transformation scenes and was glad it was all practically done, as opposed to any computer generated stuff. The blood effects were done well and the only real complaint I have is the rather bad looking dummy used in the swamp scene.
I really enjoyed this movie and think anyone who is a huge werewolf fan, like myself, should definitely check it out! I give it an overall rating of 4 silver bullets out of 5.
Great movie, classic Stephen King!
