Stop Tormenting Me Like This

A Taste of Phobia Review

A Taste of Phobia | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

If someone were to ask me my biggest fear, I’m not sure what I would answer.  It would probably be a typical response, like most —  Something like fear of heights or spiders and other creepy crawlers. I guess I’m lucky in the sense that I really don’t have any crazy, irrational fears.  The same cannot be said for the characters featured in the short films comprising the horror anthology, A Taste of Phobia.

A Taste of Phobia features [...]

Killbillies Review

Killbillies | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

More often than not, foreign horror flicks are extremely entertaining.  Some of the most fun horror experiences I’ve had have come from creature features, slashers, and zombie flicks delivered from outside of the states. Because of this, I’m usually pretty open to watching new genre films from overseas.  Thankfully, we’ve been delivered another great one with Tomaz Gorkic’s Killbillies.

In need of some cash, Zina (Nina Ivanisin) has accepted a modeling gig, which finds her and fellow [...]

Vampyres Review

Vampyres | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

Being an avid horror fan for as long as I can remember, I wish I could say that I’ve watched every film ever released in the genre. Sadly this is not the case and realistically, it never will be. Because of this, there are remakes that I get a chance to watch before ever seeing the original production they are based off of. This happens to be the exact case with Victor Matellano’s newest film, Vampyres, a faithful re-imagining [...]

Take Care of Your Wife

The Perfect Husband Review

The Perfect Husband | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

There was a time when Italian filmmakers seemed to be dominating the horror genre. In the 70’s and 80’s, maestro directors like Lucio Fulci, Ruggero Deodato, Umberto Lenzi, and Dario Argento were cranking out film after film, each one being a hit with hardcore horror fans. As time passed, the stronghold that the Italians had on the genre seemed to diminish. I don’t know if there will ever be a resurgence of any kind in the way of Italian horror [...]

Fever Review

Fever | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

Artsploitation Films has a knack for releasing some very interesting films, many of which I would never even hear about if it weren’t for the indie studio’s distribution. There are plenty of films in the catalog I have yet to see, but the ones I have had the pleasure of viewing have all been entertaining in their own unique way. While it isn’t my favorite of the bunch, Raphael Neal’s Fever is no different in its uniqueness and originality.

High [...]

Cub Review

Cub

More often than not, I set myself up to be disappointed that the final product doesn’t mirror the hype that was created for it. However, it was nearly a year ago when I saw the trailer for Jonas Govaerts’ film, Cub. I can recall exactly how I felt; My jaw hit the floor as flashes of grisly violence were intermingled with a haunting camp song. I remember telling myself, “This looks so damn good!” Trying to remind myself that [...]
