The Path to Pet Sematary  Review

Unearthed and Untold | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

Welcome once again to the show that never ends. Today we talk the doc for Pet Sematary, entitled Unearthed and Untold: The Path to Pet Sematary. First off, I am a sucker all day for in-depth documentary videos on classic horror flicks; I was first in line for Never Sleep Again and Crystal Lake Memories. I consume all I can find and waited with high anticipation for this one. I love the cover art they chose for Unearthed and Untold; It feels very old-school VHS and has a creepy cool vibe to it. Unfortunately, we gotta wait for a physical … Read More

Don’t You Have Anything Good?

Brainscan  Review

Brainscan | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

EvildeadInks back again with another blast from the past and, yes, the mid 90’s are further back than some of us want to believe. Today, I tackle another video store find that doesn’t get a lot of love, Brainscan. This bad boy features a still fresh-faced Eddie Furlong, right off the heels of T2. He plays the character Michael who has a taste for horror and by far the most amazing electronic setup in his room ever put to film. Dude has an answering service, full entertainment stereo system, and this rad bubble light display that I really want. Michael’s … Read More

A Beta Beginning

Friday the 13th: The Game  Video Game Review

Friday the 13th: The Game | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

Make them remember what fear tastes like, Jason! Make them suffer! We are a few months away from the official release of Friday the 13th: The Game on your home gaming consoles. The beta was released several weeks ago and although I didn’t have the chance to play myself, I did watch others play for hours on both YouTube and Twitch. The makers of this game are by far the most faithful contributors to a franchise product. So much in fact, that they put some filmmakers to shame.  Friday the 13th: The Game was delayed to add a single player … Read More

Amityville: It's About Time  Review

Amityville 1992: It's About Time | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

Time to hit the nostalgia sweet spot for me once again with this one.  The Amityville series is a unique one, to say the least, and this movie is no exception. Amityville 1992, another film I owned on VHS, back in the day, right before we moved towns and didn’t have cable or a close video store, so we snagged as much new cinema as we could before the move. This was one of those gems and it holds all of 1992 within it, so much so that it’s in the title. The evil truly does escape, when a clock … Read More

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2  Review

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2 | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Movies

Ah, to be the new kid in school, as if that wasn’t a nightmare already.  Today I review part two of my favorite series of horror, A Nightmare on Elm Street. I chose part two to start because, well, it widely goes overlooked. I am the biggest fan of the first, four, five, and six are a different beast, and seven is an island all its own. I use to own the original three on a VHS tape and while two was creepy, it was such poor quality, I could hardly see a damn thing. Ah, to relive the days … Read More

Stan Against Evil Season One  Guest Review

Stan Against Evil | Repulsive Reviews | Horror Television

In competition with Ash vs Evil Dead, IFC released the first season of Stan Against Evil. There are many similar concepts between both shows — An older gentleman begrudgingly battles evil forces all the while spouting witty dialogue. Not saying I don’t totally dig both shows, they are both a lot of fun and they will fit nicely in my DVD collection together someday. Stan Against Evil does feel a bit more fast-paced with the quick cuts and also having about a 20 minute time slot/10 episode season. I had some trouble keeping up character names and some of the … Read More
